THIS IS IT! The authentic Szechuan flavor I've been craving. The numbing sensation from the peppercorns is addictive. I doubled the chilies because I'm a spice addict. Serve with lots of rice to balance the heat!
Warning: this is SPICY! But so good. The ma la effect is incredible - my lips were tingling for an hour. I added some celery and peanuts for extra crunch. Will make again (with more rice)!
Really authentic flavor! I reduced the chilies by half and it was still plenty spicy for me. The Szechuan peppercorns are key - don't skip them. The numbing sensation is what makes this dish special.
